Your gums change over time. Meaning that the bone of your jaws decreases in volume from year to year. This phenomenon is called bone resorption. It is therefore essential to have your dental prostheses checked by your denturologiste each year.
Do not wait to feel pain or discomfort to determine if your prosthesis is right for you. The absence of pain or discomfort is not a sign of whether or not your prosthesis is right for you.
The annual examination of your prostheses will allow the denturist to detect any current or future problem.
During this examination, the denturist can also clean and polish your prosthesis to restore its original luster. Indeed, when brushing your prostheses, or following the friction during chewing, the luster of your teeth crumbles and disappears little by little and this causes the buildup of tartar.
