What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Under the Canadian Dental Care Plan, eligible individuals may receive federal assistance for denturist services as part of their regular dental care services. This means that in 2024, people aged 65 and over are eligible and can apply to have access to high-quality dental care at significantly reduced fees.

The ProtaDent Denturist Clinic is pleased to announce that we are participating in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), which helps ease financial barriers to accessing oral health care for eligible Canadian residents. The Canadian Dental Care Plan for denturist services

If you are aged 65 and over in Quebec in 2024 and you require denturist services, you may be eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

If you would like more information, visit the federal government website for more information. Although dental implants are not covered by the CDCP complete dentures are included in the plan while partial dentures will be part of RCSD coverage as of November 2024.

Are you eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan for denturist services?

To qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) for denturist services, you must meet all the eligibility criteria.

  • Not have access to dental insurance, or more precisely, not have access to any type of dental insurance or coverage. If one of the spouses is insured, you will not qualify for the CDCP.
  • Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 based on your 2023 taxes
  • Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes
  • have filed your tax return for the year 2023 (for eligibility in 2024)

Applications for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) will open in phases until 2025 when all other eligible residents of Canada will be covered. To find out more about all the eligibility criteria for RCSD in Quebec in 2024, read more here.

Here is some useful information from the federal government’s website on the 2024 Canadian Dental Care Plan:

  • Seniors aged 65 and above are now eligible to apply for the CDCP online without needing an invitation letter
  • If you have previously received an invitation letter, please note that the personal access code provided expired on April 30, 2024. We encourage you to apply online
  • Before you can apply for the CDCP, you and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) must have filed your tax return for 2023 and have received your Notice of Assessment.
